Beginner's Wheel Throwing Class (16+)

This class is great for those who want to try out wheel throwing without committing to a course.
In this single session you will learn the basics of throwing clay, centering, opening, pulling and shaping on a pottery wheel. Each class starts with demonstrations and throwing techniques. Each student receives 2 balls of clay to transform into a ceramic vessel of their choice with techniques taught in the class.
This class includes 2 hours of hands on instruction and does not include instruction on trimming or finishing pieces, including decorating and glazing. Class size is limited to 5 students. We will fire, and glaze your creations for you based on your choices and glazes available, we do not guarantee outcomes for a variety of factors- including those influenced by your hands! This class is primarily for the experience with your creations being an added benefit. If you are set on creating a very specific piece or understanding the lengthy process, as well as trimming and glazing, we suggest joining our monthly courses!
Pieces will be available for pick up 3-6 weeks after your class date. We will only hold them for up to 30 days after you are notified. Click here to learn more about our process.

Please wear clothing and shoes that you don’t mind getting mud on, we provide aprons! Please take the necessary precautions if you have any cuts or abrasions on your hands, and try to have short nails- we love a beauitful mani, but bear in mind longer nails will get in the way.
Attendees who arrive late may not be able to complete project and miss out on intro.
